We share many attributes with the plants that provide us oxygen, medicine, food and shelter. We share 50% of our DNA with plants.
Like plants, we have downward flowing energy that fixes us in space and time to family, friends, a place of birth, a tribe, a nation and planet Earth. Like plants our physical nourishment comes from the soil.
Equally, we have upward flowing energy that connects us to the cosmos. We don’t often think of the cosmos as being part of our immediate environment but energetically speaking it is. The German poet Rainier Marie Rilke wrote “The future enters into us, in order to transform itself in us, long before it happens.”
Our society’s health depends on a balance of these two fundamental forces of our human nature and a much broader definition in Western education of what makes us human. Subtle energy research explores the invisible forces that could explain intuition, gut feelings, remote viewing and spontaneous healing.
